I'm upgrading my stock 86 GT brakes w/ Porterfield street pads and stainless steel lines. I'm not having much luck on the Internet finding caliper rebuild kits - anybody got any leads? Thanks -

I got a set of rear ones on ebay a while back. I believe www.rockauto.com has them too, front and back. If you want my back ones let me know, I'll sell them for half of what I payed. I don't need them now as I now have rebuilt calipers.

Iv`e never had any luck finding the rebuild kits anywhere, for the hell of it I took one apart, then re-assembled. Then went out and bought calipers...

Why are you searching the internet? You can get them locally.

I got one last week at Autozone. For an 86. Never had any problem getting them. Be sure they're looking up "caliper repair (or rebuild) kit" the doofus at Autozone tried finding a "wheel cylinder" kit and wasn't able to find one.

Try Checker, too. They have them or can order them in.

so true. I've found autozone to be great about being able to special order ANYTHING and have it in 1-2 days.
and also, NAPA/Carquest have amazing odd item inventories - and mostly the good ACDelco stuff too.
