I'm curious, is a ac pulley delete system necessary like what intense sells? or can I just get a shorter belt.

http://www.intense-racing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=IAD-380&Category_Code=PBF

seems a wee bit expensive. I was going to get the AC done up on my car, but I'm thinking I'm going to lose it, because the pulley is giving off noise and causing false KR well either this or my throw out bearing

There really is no option for deleteing AC other than running an idler. If your alternator is on the exhaust side of the motor, then it is impossible to not run AC without the ac pulley there.

For my swap I am deleteing the AC by putting my alternator there, and in my case it goes in nice and easy due to my custom motor mount, and my tensioner bracket i made. I doubt you would be able to do much of anything without doing a cradle drop, good time to check the TO bearing, as I have seen one melt the input shaft when it broke on my friends.

Got to have that idler pulley to clear everything else. But look onm Club Gp for a recebt Thread on the delete pulley, can get them from parts house for 30 bucks or so. The Thread list the part numbers and the parts store to order from. Will be going this route on one of my 3800SC/auto car once the 5 speed/3800SC car is done.

I am replacing my AC Compressor on my 3800 tomorrow for the same reason. I just got the system working and pumping cold air into the car, but now the compressor makes a loud squealing noise with the AC off. With the AC on it is whisper quiet, but turn it off? The clutch does not seem to be disengaging all the way. I checked power to make sure that was not the problem...

I got the compressor off today, and it turns rough on the pulley side...
