I am about to complete my C4 corvette brake upgrade, and I was wandering if I have to use the 67-80 corvette master cylinder or if i can use the stock fiero master cylinder.

It on a 86 gt

Thanks

Depending on who you ask, you will get an pretty much either answer.

Some say that the smaller fiero master cylinder is better for quick, high pressure braking.

Others say that the s10/blazer master cylinder (bigger than the fiero one but a very easy swap compared to the vette), is "better" because it pushes more fluid, but at a lower pressure.

I would say keep the fiero master, and if you have problems upgrade, but I doubt you will.

only good way to answer is to know what the pistons sizes are, and work it out from there.

The Fiero one will sort of work, however...you need to use the Corvette master...otherwise you are wasting your time with the swap.

I've got three sets of these. DarkHorizon knows what he's talking about on this. I auto cros every chance I get. This IMO is the biggest bang for your buck that you can do to your Fiero. Yes you can get better for a whole lot more cash, but as I said....................

Go with the stock MC, if you still think you need to upgrade, go with the S10 version, less money and effort with great results. I would also say that unless you're doing some hard core road rally racing, don't bother with vented rotors. They look good but aren't worth the extra money unless youre riding those brakes really hard. I haven't experienced any significant brake fade during my auto crossing experience. just my .02 worth. Happy Fieroing.

My imagination is the only limiting factor to my Fiero. Well, there is that money issue.

Just to clarify, you mean slotted, right?
Non-vented rotors are the whole reason why the 84-87 Fiero brakes are so bad..
