Are the exhaust ports on the Aluminum head 3400, different then the 3.4...

Just curious if it would be a waste to get a set of long tube headers made for the 3.4, when they wont work with the 3400 in case I upgrade. Thanks.

Different ports and wider bolt hole placement, if you keep the bolt spacing in mind and make them for the 3400 with elongation to accomodate the iron heads you'll be okay.
