Well im still in search of my oil leak down the back side of the motor. Its not the distributor o-ring like everyone on here has said, but as i was looking at the motor with the car in the air the dipstick is real loose. So i took the dipstick out and the little o-ring is half gone and the part that was there is like plastic, my question is could there be alot of oil coming from there, like at high rpm's (my engine is the 2.8 and is turbocharged too) cause i really need to get this thing fixed. Also am i correct by saying that the oil pressure sender is tapped into the block right above the oil filter cause thats where my oil line for the turbo is and there is a tube running from there up to the passenger side of the motor, could that be a possible leak cause there is like three threaded lines there(what can u use to put on those threads to seal them RTV? Teflon) well anyways help me out here....
Thanx Jusint

the O-ring on the dipstick could cause a leak if defective. A significant leak? I'm not sure. I think it could be.
Yes, the line coming out of the block above the oil filter is for the oil pressure sending unit. I believe those are compression fittings. You could always use the teflon sealer on them.
Are any of the oil plugs (on the block) leaking? Also, check to see if you can isolate which side the oil is coming from (front/accessories or back/tranny side). It could be a crank seal.

I find it hard to believe the dipstick could be the source of the leak. maybe if the PCV is not working, the block may get enough pressure to squeeze oil 1" UPWARDS the dipstick hole in the block barely get any oil around it. only the run down & splash. and then for it get magicly pushed upwards just doesnt make sense, unless the PCV isnt releasing block pressure. and even then, theres better places for the pressure to push out oil - like the rear & front mains.

well the crank whirring around does create alot of wind force so its possible that it could force some oil out the dipstick area. i would fix that o-ring along with a small amount of rtv around the tube. i would then clean that area big time with either simple green or even carb cleaner and take it for a ride and check the area where the oil pressure feed line is above the filter....it may be a combination of both causing the leak. best thing to do i think would be to drop the filter and get up there the best you can and see where itmight be coming from....sounds fun...good luck!!
Yeah i think thats what im gonna do is just clean everything and drive it, but the oil seems to be coming from the middle of the back side of the motor, cause theres no oil on the tranny side or on the side with the belts just in the middle of the motor, maybe one of my fittings is messed up on the oil pressure sender..... Any more advice
Also what do u guys think about the additive stuff u put in to stop leaks, says it dosent gum up and only sticks to like gaskets and stuff my brother had good results with it in his chevy truck, but who cares what happens with that motor(305)lol
Thanx

If oil is being blown out of there there is the possibility of engine blowby. You might want to test your compression or do a leak down test. Excessive blowby would have the ability to force the oil out.
Hope this isn't the case.

My Formula was blowing oil out the back side of the motor around the dipstick area untill I replaced the dipstick o-ring and replaced the metal tube from the backside valve cover to the air intake. The last owner had removed it and blocked the holes.

Did it cause that much oil to leak???? but i have a new prob now(the fitting that screws into the block for the oil pressure sender and my turbo oil line, well i was trying to unscrew it yesterday and it broke of in the block, like the threaded in is still in the block, how would u go about getting this out, tapping it out sounds best but there seems like no way anyone could get a drill upthere to tap it, am i gonna have to pull the motor to do this????? help me out guys...
