This is obnoxious... when I hit a bump my horn goes off and just keeps blairing as I drive down the road until I hit another bump. Anyone care to guess as to what is grounding?
A Plus goes to the winner!

Start by pulling the horn button and disconnecting the horn. If the problem persists it's likely in the wiring under the dash, either the turn signal bundle or over by the horn relay under the passenger side. My guess is that the turn signal wiring bundle where it comes out of the column has rubbed through somewhere.

My 84 did that. It ended up that the button was screwed up somehow (can't recall correctly. It's been 10 years). I got another one and VOILA! It worked.
Just to add humour....
Don't hit bumps

But to stay on track a bit here, I would first start at the horn (that does the honking) and work my way back to the actually horn on the steering wheel. Just sounds like a wire that's loose. Defective horn maybe?
check the spring contact setup in the steering wheel and of course the horn button for miminal clearances ...OK I am "drunk " but even with a altered state thatseems to me a logical step

Alright. I took off the horn button and, it still honks. What's friggin' strange is that it doesn't honk when i trash about the adjustable steering column - it honks when I open the door (??) or hit bumps. I disconnected the horn speakers in the front so I could drive to work without freakin anyone out.
Where is this relay someone was talking about? I want to replace that first and work my way from there. The electronics under the dash are haunted.
Today my factory sub started to pop when i pushed the clutch in *sigh*

Since you've ruled out the switch in the steering column, replace the horn relay. A horn relay with a tired return spring and/or well-carboned contacts can cause this.
edit: didn't see your question about the location of the relay. You'll find it in the "convenience center", up under the passenger side of the dash. The horn relay is the square box with three terminals on it.

being as its all arround electrical you might consider checking all of your grounds which can cause all sorts of fun problems like when I roll the windows up and down my stereo cuts to complete static (at least I'm 90% sure thats whats causing it for me), replacing all the grounds on the 87 se I had did wonders for the car.
however I say reconnect your horn and start a freak car show could catch on as one of them reality tv deals
I just have to laugh everytime I read one of these posts. I have never had a Fiero yet that didn't have a unique personality. 87 GT, walked into a dark garage, turned on the light and the wiper made one sweep, one sweep only. I am cleaning up an 88 Base Coupe that has 60K on it and I thought it was totally problem free. Drving down the road the blue dingy thing makes a few chirps, then the wiper makes one courtesy sweep just to keep me awake. When I turn the left turn signal on the overhead light blinks in sequence with the turn signal. Really must look into these issues.........
