thanks ogre,,,i googled,,searched this site, but i still don't know how to test it to see it's good. should you be able to hear the mirror change? i have a green lite,,,have blocked the lite sensor,,and shined a lite at the dimming sensor, but i cann't tell if its changing. i'm testing the bench. thanks for your help
Good luck trying to get anything out of them! If you are getting the green light and it is not working, then you have the reverse dimming disable hooked up. It is a green wire. When this is connected, the mirror stays on but does not dim. This is when you put the car in reverse the mirror undims so you can see what you are doing. You will definetely notice it dim. Shine a light directly at the photosensor and the mirror will become very dark in a matter of two to three seconds.
