Went to replace my Mag. pick-up coil in the distributor. Followed the instructions in the manual, removed the roll pin and gear will not come off to allow removal of the shaft. What am I doing wrong?

If the roll pin is all the way out, You may need to spray some WD-40 on the gear and LIGHTLY tap it off with a hammer.
Once it starts to move, It should slide off.

Also, you may need to wire brush the shaft to remove the carbon so the gear will slide off. I use a dremel tool with small wire brush wheel to clean the shaft. Wear eye protection.
