So, I'm getting ever so close to finishing the V8 project. Im about to hook up the throttle cable to the carb and notice I have a slight difference in how they couple together. I've got a few ideas on how to jerry-rig it all together but am wondering what other methods are out there.

Please let me know how you did yours. Pictures are great to see.

I bought a commercial bracket at Autozone that mounts to the two carb studs closest to the firewall. It allowed for some adjustment of the stock throttle cable and has worked great. I did fabricate a return spring mount off a bolt on the passenger side of the engine for additional throttle return pressure. Check out the hotrod stuff at Autozone, Schucks or Summit and you will find a couple of adjustable cable brackets.

I did same thing. The aftermarket bracket I got even had the mounting tab for the auto trans TV cable. I think it was Mr Gasket.

$24 was too much for me so I made my own. I will try and get some pictures when I get home.

I just cut off the part of the stock bracket that held the cable and made a plate to mount it to. I dont have batteries so I cant take pictures.
This is what I will make sooner or later

That's a pretty sharp looking bracket. I'll have to find one. Have you got a part # for it?
