started pulling the engine and noticed the majority of the wire harness is burnt up ( which explains all the black soot over everything ) , so I figure I have 2 choices.

1. rebuild the 2.5l and get a new wire harness.
2. get another ( bigger ) engine, but will still probably need a new wire harness.

I've found an engine rebuilder that seems to have several larger engines that he is willing to let go pretty cheap, the po's didnt come back for them.

I know several have done this, so any information would be very helpful.

oh, it is a 4 spd w/ 4.10
