I have a first generation iron duke and I was told that the one out of the monza was alot stronger than the one in 80+ vehicles. I was just wondering if there is any truth in it before I destroy it. If it is worth keeping then I won't do something stupid like turbocharging a stock engine and push it till it detonates to death. I have a v8 to put in its place and a big block for my camaro so I will be playing musical engine's and theres no room in my garage for the little duke.

The 'duke is a very weak engine. While I think the earlier ones may have been a bit stronger, it still won't last all that long.

yea I think it won't take well to boost but it has taken forever to blow up the engine and the most I have ever done to it is blow 2 head gaskets. but its crank has to be machined down to work in other dukes and it can take the super duke cyl heads.
