I have an 85 GT v-6 automatic and about 20 minutes after startup the check engine light comes on.
If i shut it down for a while and restart it it`s off but comes on again in about the same amount of time or a little sooner. I read somewhere on other kinds of cars that the light will come on if the normal operating temperature is not reached in a specified amount of time. Does anyone know if this applies to the Fiero? I just passed the emissions test and I think that if a sensor is bad the light would not reset on every startup but just stay on. I`m going to run the onboard diagnostic to see if it shows any codes.
Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, BuddyCraig did a real nice write up on this, hit the search box at the top of every page and take a look around the archives---lots of good stuff in there.

3800superfast you were right. I found that article and it was very informative. I should be able to find my problem using the testing methods given there.
