I was wondering what all would use to build an underbody tray and a rear diffuser off the rear bumper. I have seen the wing mounted upside-down and stuff but I was thinking like an actual diffuser with small fins. I know neither are absolutely necessary, but the tray would help the efficency of my intercooler and the diffuser may allow slightly less "wrap around" from the air over the rear bumper. I don't think I'd like fiberglass due to it being extremely time consuming to make a piece big enough to cover the bottom of the car, and I would think it wouldn't stand up too well with street rocks and such. Maybe buy big flat pieces of lexan or something? Thanks,

Justin

Basic Fiero set-up allows for engine compartment cooling from below. If you tamper with design by adding diffusers, skid pans, etc. you'll interfere with cooling.

I've been contemplating lifting the car, and cleaning off all the components then taping the whole underneath of the car, covering the parts, but not wrapping them... then glassing a skid plate on top of that. Removing the glassed plate, reinforcing the road side with strips of metal flashing, and then taking it to get rhino lined...

I don't know how it will hold up but it will be better then just a glass bottom, it will smooth out the airflow under the car while still allowing stock cooling (leaving the cradle area uncovered)... it would be better then just bolting on steel plates because at least it would still conform to the bottom of the car.
