Ok I have a headlight that doesn't want to stay down. If I man. crank it down it'll stay there till I turn em on. I put a new brass gear in it about a year ago. When I was having probs w/ it then it always had the motor running, but now nothing.

Any ideas? Its an 85

Yeah I got a new one and plugged it in.... do I need to give power to the car for it to work? Or should it just kick in?

Is the blue wire with the weather-pak connecter near the relay plugged in?

When you installed the brass gear did you clean the contacts and lube the shaft? If you did lubricate it, with what?
As the headlight hits the limit, the center shaft will move and switch a limit contact.
There is one for "up" and one for "down". It sounds like the contacts or the shaft isn't working correctly. If you used more of a grease type of lubricant and it got dirty and gummed up, It could cause the problem you are seeing.
I would double check the wiring first then look at the actual motor. You can swap the left and right motors to see if the wiring is good or bad. (you just can't mount the left motor to the right side and visa-versa.) If the good working motor works on the bad side then the problem is in the motor assembly.
