A while back I was looking at my GT tailights and realized how crooked they sat because half of my mounting tabs on them where broke. I figured this was because half of my bolts really didnt do to much but just hang out cause the lower clip they where suppose to screw into was broken off. So I figured I would share my fix with all of you guys and gals in case you have the same problem I did.

For starters heres the old broken hole:

Now lets start to fix this thing, take a small drill bit and drill low enough below the hole so the clip still fits on, and at a angle so you dont drill through the plastic angle support on the backside:

After the hole is drilled out take a thin piece bare steel wire and insert it through the drilled hole, bend it back around to go through the metal clip making sure the wire sits in the "v" notch thats cut outof the clip:

After that take the two pieces of wire and twist them together by hand then tighten them up nice and tight with a pair of pliers and cut off the excess with a wire cutters:

And now your all done! As long as that wire sits in the "v" groove of the clip the bolt still threads into that clip like it wasnt even there. Now you can install your taillights without having your mounting clips fall off and your taillights looking all droopy!

To make it even better glue the spring nut onto the tab with some JB weld.

Thanks! I was worried at first about it holding but I was really amazed at how strong and tight it was!
