Not all the chips are bad just the ones that aren't custom. I would get the wester, rockcrawl or darth fiero. I am sure there are more but that is the only few I know of.

Any chip you can find on ebay, any that's a one size fits all, they're worthless. If you really want a performance chip on a stock engine, you gotta go with one custom made. Even then you wont be looking at much of an improvent. There's other ways of getting a performance boost for little or no money. Removing the restriction from your exaust manifolds doesnt cost you anything but time, and will give more power than a chip will.

Send me a self addressed stamped envelope/mailer and I'll send you the one I have, if I can find it. PM if interested. My stock 2.8 ran too rich with this one. Just not that much difference, except on a hard pull at lower RPMs and it wasn't that much. TG

Hard to believe as it is, the stock chip was actually tuned very well by GM. Heck, I have a fairly heavily modified 3.4 and I'm still using the stock chip on it and it runs great. Messing with the chip won't get much power out of a pushrod V6 (or a duke for that matter). Your money is better spent elsewhere.
depends on your engine. if you have a stock engine, use the stock chip. if you got a aftermarket cam or intake, you probably want a custom chip. most generic aftermarket chips (ADS/Jet/HyperTech) do nothing but make you get lousy mileage
