On start up my oil pressure gauge reads pegged all the way over to 80 and sometimes higher. after warm up she'lll come down to 60ish which still seems high. Any suggestions?
Did you do an engine swap? My S* reads a good 20 pounds higher than the stock Fiero did, even at idle the Oil pressure will be 80psi. And I even used the stock sending unit from the 2.8. Mine will be 80psi for a while then it falls off to about 60psi after it is warmed up.

I turned the ignition switch on without turning the engine on and the needle went all over the place, it was spazzing out! After about 10 seconds it settled on around 20psi. I started her up and she was up there again but I took her out for th efirst long ride and sh sat around 60ish during highway driving depending on my speed.

Sounds like sending unit, a cleanest way to test is to pop the center console out, then unplug the C203 and ground Pin E (tan) the guage should read exactly 0, then disconected it should read pegged high. If it doesnt read 0 then there is a problem in the guage, or unlikely but possilbe, wiring to it. If it does read 0 and not when C203 is connected, its definitely in the sender, or again unlikely, the wiring to it. There and ya didnt even have to get greasy
The sending unit is the bell shaped black thing standing up near the battery with a 3 wire plug going into it.

You are correct. Also if you want to test your gauge, you can put a 90 ohm resistor in series with the tan wire and your gauge should read 80 lbs. Don

Mine used to jump around when cold. After several miles down the road it woiuld settle to 60 psi. Problem turned out to be a bad connection at the oil sender unit. 2.8 / While idling cold with a jumping needle I applied hand pressure on the sender connector while watching thru the rear window at the gauge. It held steady as long as I held pressure. When I let go the needle went wacky. To cure the problem I twisted the prongs slightly on the sender and pushed the connector back on. End of problem.
