"extra holes"?? One cover gets the pcv valve and the other is an air inlet source for same..... and then there's the fill cap.... which is larger. how many holes are in your covers?

gm astro clinton manual with a carb has a right side location of the pvc valve. this goes to the carb
vac. the larger hole is the oil filler. the left side has a fresh air inlet. 1" dia, that is all.
my cover has another hole, also a 1" dia.

so to sum up one side has two 1" dia holes. the other has one 1.25" and a 1'"

ahhh. your engine must have had a smog pump. any autol parts store will have gromets of various sizes but I don't know if they'd have a plug. you might ask first but if not you'll just need to get a pvc gromet and make a plug to fit it's ID. if it's not pretty you might want to put that cover on the front side
