If you grind through everything, how do you know when you've hit SMC? Is it grey?

The SMC in the hood is white. And the primer/sealer/whatever coat (at least, on mine) is black.

Hmmmmmmm.......... I went through the black coat in a couple places, and came up grey. There's absolutely nothing underneath the grey.

OK, so maybe it's not perfectly white... like greyish-white. Anyway, yeah you sanded through to the SMC.

I think I need to take a pic... there's no way you could confuse it for white, it's like a dark-medium grey.

If you keep sanding you will find the air layer.

Be careful on the corners because you will quickly sand the corners right off, and the base material on the hood is white. I practically ruined a hood this way. The corners can be repaired but it's a pain.
