The relay is located under the dash directly below the tachometer position in a clip on the right side of the steering column supports. If you are using used parts, grab the horn relay from the "convenience center" It's the square can next to the blue chime unit. If nothing else you now have a spare relay that will work for the horn or the trunk.

85 and up has to have the key off or with key on... if a stick the ebrake has to be on if a auto has to be in park or neutral
dont forget that the solenoid gets it's ground through the latch. poor design. you can check to see if you are getting power to the solenoid and then you know you have a ground problem

are you tring to get it working or add a keyless system to it? i sugested supplying power to where the relay plugs in as a test to get the switch and relay out of the circuit.

I added keyless entry, but the unit only supplies 200mA on the accessory circuit. Its just supposed to be enough to fire a relay. I tried it for the heck of it to power the switch, but as stated the mulitmeter only shows .3v when the aux button is pressed. Its certainly not enough to pop the trunk. I was wondering if there was another wire I needed to tap into, or if I needed to add an actual relay to get 12v to the switch.
Guess I'll just go pick up a relay and wire it in that way.

i know know how many millamps a GM horn relay needs they are not built like normal relays. so ya, i would suggest adding another relay that the remote can handle.
