i was hoping you guys could tell me if you see any potential problems with moving the side air intake vent to inside the wheelwell where it cannot be seen... i would have a very fine screen to prevent **** from being sucked up, but would it be a problem with small pieces of sand and whatnot?

if this is not a good spot, please feel free to share some other hidden locations you can think of...

thanks!

Well my plan with the turbo im putting on as we speak is to move the location to right in front of the cradle under the drivers side of the car. Might be a little warm if you have a cat though. But im plannin on cutting up a coffee can that is just larger than the stock air filter and running 3" flexbile dryer tubing to it.

If you look inside the panel where your side vent is, you will see that it is open at the bottom to the road. You don't need to vent into the wheel well at all, you just draw air up from the bottom.

Of course you will need to clean your air cleaner a bit more often, however, a K&N is made for the job.

Not to hijack the thread but I have a question about the stage two scoops from the international fierostore are they functional or what would it take to make them functional cold air intake for a turbo? I would assume it has been done before and they are both good looking and functional though not exactly hidden.

I have the stage two side scoops. I think that they do a good job of sucking in the air.

uhhh. finally started this today.
i did a crappy job with dryer tubing for now, ill do a better set up once the bodywork is done.

took the panel of and cut out the scoop area, then used an old door, traced out the hole and cut it. filed it to fit nice and poped it in

glassed up

little sanding to make it all level

test fit. ill finish it off tomorow
