I have a stock 87 GT, 126000 miles and far as I know the suspension is stock, would like to put modern wheel and tires on it so what other mods to the suspenison should I do,
lower car? I know I need new shocks and struts, how bout sway bars,
the rear seems like it wants to come around when driving aggressively thru corners, will these mods cure that problem?

Hi, Welcome to the forum... You don`t need to lower it to get it to handle correctly--better yes --but not the cure. Install your new struts and shocks--then get the car aligned . Or how ever you spell that..The other mods can come later---after you find out that it will track ok for you. The shop should be able to detect if you have anything else wrong with your suspension, worn out bushings, tie-rods, ect , ect. Make sure they tighten everything back up correctly to specs. Most of the specs can be found on-line or manuals. One of mine used to have the ass-end swing around on me, turns out the shop didn`t torque strut bolts and a host of other things to specs. Find a good shop, not a brake and muffler shop and get the print out. Hope this helps out........

#1 Figure out what you want in the end.
There is no use aligning if you want to lower it. You will just need to have it done over.
You can post about anything and everyone will help you spend your dollars. Only you know what you can afford or want.
Start off by getting under your car and determining what it needs (bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.) Get that stuff fixed first. If you don't go through this in the correct order you will pay to have some done again. And yes, good tires, struts, lowering if you like and a rear sway bar will help a ton.
