My compressor basically locked up and has shredded my last serpentine belt. Since the A/C runs with the defroster turned on I pulled the compressor clutch wire to prevent it from engaging. I don’t think it will damage anything but thought I should ask just in case?

I have a replacement compressor in the garage that I have not installed and will probably not do anything with it until spring. I can't see the point until next year since it is cold outside.

Nope, wont hurt anything. Just makes it so the compressor wont turn on which is what you want.

Thank you. I wanted to make sure that the, "Break the surpentine belt button" was disabled and would not cause further problems.
