What is the maximum tire rim combo size, as in diameter.
Stock is 215 60 15 for the GT's at 25.2 here http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html
so 27, 30, 33 in diameter?
Thanks.

Depends on if the suspension is stock or not. Any rim/tire combo bigger than 26" is going to look kind of funny on a Fiero, though.

You can go as large as 27" before you run into problems, at least on an 88. I don't know about earlier years.

25.3 is the tallest rear diameter for all 84-87 stock suspension using a 35mm off-set. Anything between 25.4-26.8 you'd better have good coil-overs for the rear.

I have the big bolt pattern on the rear with stock struts and 1/4 coil shorter springs. I am using Bonneville SSEi Mesh 16x7's with 225-60-16's which is 26.63". No problems but I never measured the offset and I would not go that big in the front.

You dont have to run the same rim size front and rear but it's a good idea to run the same amount of sidewall, maybe SLIGHTLY less in the rear to tighten things up. It would look funny if you went more than 1" difference in rim diameters. If I we're buying custom wheels and the tires sizes we're available, 16x7 front and 17x8 rear with 225-50-16 (4.43" sidewall, 24.85"od) and 245-45-17(4.325" sidewall,25.65" od, 7.5" minimum rim width). You have to look at what tire sizes are available/affordable. The more common ones are a lot more affordable. If your not really concerned about ride quality and handling and just want it to POP with bling, you can go bigger than that. Its your car. Do what you want.
