Do you hear the fuel pump run when you turn on the key?
Is there gas in the tank?
Are you getting spark from the coil wire?
Does the tach move when it is cranking?
When it is cranking is there fuel spraying from the injector? (Under the filter cover)
Check all the connectors at the coil, the distributor, and the injector.
Make sure none of the wires at the starter were left against the exhaust.
Guess what I am saying is ..... need more information. The possibilities are endless.
Also why does the starter needs more shims? The shim/s that came out with the old starter normally should be all it needs.
