I just ran across a guy blowing out some 2.5L Remanufactured engines.

I have two 1987 2.5L coupes....

Is this the right 2.5L engine for the 1987 Fiero?
Manf. #OH YR CYL Cu In Cu Ltr VIN Description
Pontiac (3) 87 4 151 2.5 R Pontiac Eng., FWD, Trigger Fire Ignition., Roller Lifters

Also, will a 1985 or 1986 Pontiac VIN R 2.5L FWD engine work without any issues in a 1984 Fiero?

I'm hoping these engines will work, at $200 each their cheaper than a junkyard engine!

On the 87 a vin R motor would be correct. It should have an 87 cast in the side of the block, at least mine did. it should use the spin on oil filter and the DIS ignition. That's a steal for a reman engine. I paid $559 for a rebuilt 87 vir R shortblock about 6 month ago and had to drive 3 1/2 hours each way to go pick it up.

If the oil filter goes in the pan............ walk away........quickly...........better yet RUN!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't know about the 84, sorry.
