Alright, I want to jump the power windows on my 84 so I can get the mirrors off.. Where , and which wires do I connect to a battery. The car has no motor, so a battery in the stock location doesn't apply to me. There are wires coming off the motor, can I run those to another battery, or is there a relay... or lemme know. Thanks alot.

If you can see the wires coming off the motors just hit them with 12V, there are no relays. If the window is trying to go up instead of down, then reverse the polarity and the window should go down.

You can use a 12v-19V cordless drill battery. Easy and quick, and you should have one.

i'm pretty sure the windows are a 5wire set-up(something i don't fully understand yet) and you can't just jump the wires like that, it won't work. at least it didn't when i was trying to hook up my alarm to roll the windows up when i held down teh acc button.
honestly chase the easiest thing would be to install a battery in the car and push the button. otherwise you'll have to "jump" the windows at the motor itself in the door which could be pretty tricky.

edit: oops, i was reading you were trying to jump the switches, not the motor.

Everyone is just saying to jump the motors .... I would think that Jscott would know what he is talking about.. I think mine is a 2 wire set up at the motor, I know the 85 is... I looked at it today. I just need to get my mirrors off.. lol

Reverse polarity.. In dumbass terms does that mean just put the neg on pos and the pos on neg? lol Thanks alot guys. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes.

EDIT - No Scott (Fierce) I can't just put a battery in the stock location because I have no wires anymore... The battery ground is out of the car so it can be attached to the 3.4, and the positive one was removed because it wasn't needed as well, besides that goes to the alt. first, and missing a motor, I don't have that either .

Yup did this with the doors sitting in my dining room . It is a 2 wire setup you should be able to access the plugs to the motors without much trouble just unplug and put 2 wires into the plug to the motors and connect them to whatever power supply you choose . I used my Bike battery because it was handy.

Thanks guys! Worked awesome! As for you scott... Where the hell did you get 5 wires from... There are a few more for power door locks.. but only 2 coming off the window motor.. A blue one and a brown one.. After fooling around with the wires I got them to work nicely.

*Tear* This is one of the few things I have seen on the car work since I bought it... Good news! lol

There is another way also.. (For those finding this in a search)

If you pull the plug that connects the door to the body.(ribbed rubber one), and/or unplug the main door wire harness, you'll see the wire harness connection is kinda flat, with at least 5 wires on it. Apply 12 volts (Battery charger?) to the outer-most wires in this harness. They are thicker then the rest. IF the window does not go down, switch your positive and negative wires (reverse polarity) and it will go down. Again, this is the main wiring harness coming out of the door and connecting to the car chassis.
