My first issue.
When I did my '84 2m4 swap in June I may have incorrectly hooked up the 2 wires that lead from the '84 distributer. I did use a very low milage 1985 2.5l from an Pontiac so I had to use the '84 distributer. I had to cut and splice 2 wires from the '84 distributer. What may happen if this were the case? I have been going through all my notes and it is driving me crazy. Could this be why I am having so many issues with my fuel pump\ecm\wiring harness?

My second issue.
I think the c500 connector may have a wiring proble.. (Is that the main wiring in the center of the firewall is called?) I see someone before me has reattached a wire into the connector using just a sheet metal screw. It is the last wire on the bottom of the connector. I can't remember if it is the passenger side or driver's side. I think the wire is green but don't quote me on that until I get home and take a better look. Does anybody know what the bottom 2 spaces are for on the c500 1984 2m4?

Thanks in advance! I will be lurking. I love this sight! (-;

What symptoms does your car have now? Has it ran since your swap?

The car will start. I turn the key on and the pump primes. Go to crank and fuel injector sprays, when the car starts the injector quits spraying fuel. MY oil pressure light goes off during crank-run. The car has ran since the swap. I have replaced since the swap 3 fuel pumps, 1 wiring and plug assembly from the tank and 1 ignition module. I wonder if I have the 2 wires from the distributer correct. I thought I did since the car has ran (about 5 miles).

If you have spark during crank and run, I wouldn't suspect the Distributor. Try jumping the pump to 12 volts. The easiest place to do this is at the ALCL plug behind the lighter. I cant remember the pin numbers off the top of my head but if you dont know there is info on this in Ogers Cave or I can look it up for you. Once you jump it and get the pump running try to start it and see if the fuel stops.

I've run a pos and a neg right from the battery to the connector on the firewall. Same situation. Will start but not stay running. So it is probably either the ignition pulse not getting to the ecm or as you said I have a regulater shutting down.
