On a recent 13,000 Km trip from Fort St. John, BC, Canada to Washington, DC, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina to Oklahoma and back through Kansas, Nebrasca, etc. to Calgary and Fort St. John; I averaged 500 Km. per tank on my 2.5 L 1987 Fiero. You can figure out the gas milage. Better than a Hummer eh!

Our 87 2.8 5spd gets around 27mpg highway which is the same mileage our 4.9 4t60e gets.
I recently bought a 99 Suzuki Swift 1.3 auto and it gets 37highway with a/c off and 34 with a/c on.---and it's a LOT less car than our Fieros.--1800lbs.

Your GPS track has an end time of 23:31:36 on 9/7/2005 and your receipt shows you filled up at 16:38:24 on 9/7/2005. GPS relies on extremely accurate time to function and I've yet to see a self serve pump that was more than a few minutes off. How did you manage that or am I missing something?

Edited to add that this looks like the wrong receipt, I think it's the one you got when you filled up before you left on that trip as your beginning time is 17:52:46 on 9/7/2005. You didn't average 120 km/hr either, it was 102 km/hr.
Even if this slip is correct (which it can't be by the times), you didn't make anywhere near 40 mpg. If we use your distance of 525 km then that's 326 miles. You used (on the slip) 33.746 Liters and that's 8.91 gallons. That makes a mileage figure of 36.6 mpg.
Thanks to John, we now have a more believeable mpg number.

Any way you look at it, ALL Fiero owners can point and laugh at the dumba$$ driving that huge Hummer knowing that we get at least twice as many miles out of a gallon as he/she does.
for the record, I average 23-25 city, and consistantly get 34-36 on highway trips.

I wouldn't say that all fiero owners can, my 87 GT auto was only get 14-17 MPG before I quit driving it, but that might have been because the cat was pluged and It needed an O2 sensor.

Thats still better than an $80 fillup and 7-9 MPG.

With the 88 2.5L + 5spd : 30 combined, 38+ road trip mileage ;-)
If I remember correctly... with the '93 3.4 DOHC + 5spd: 26 combined (flooring it allllll the time), 30 combined with mostly highway. This was before the rebuild. I'll get new gas mileage stats with the rebuilt motor when I'm back at home and have it running again (at the Coast Run).
i get 29-30 mpg with my 84 4 speed. that's a combo of some city but mostly hwy miles. the faster i go, the worse the milage gets. on longer trips when i average around 75-78 i get 27 mpg, back and forth to work average 65-70 and get 30. i really wish it had a 5 speed. the other day i threw it from 4th into to 3rd gear thinking i was in my mustang..doh.
