Well I took the Y-pipe (2.8) off when replacing my tranny, now when I go to put it back on it seems it doesn't want to line up with all the exhaust ports. Is there a trick to it or do I just have to pursuade it?

Sounds like something shifted. I'd double check all the mounts and make sure everything is sitting properly. You don't want to pursuade it too much because that puts stress on the exhaust manifolds and can cause them or the bolts to crack.

olaf, is it not lineing up right on the joint to the trunk side manifold? if so i had the same problem, and it was due to a very slight twist of the motor. i thought i had it fixed, but once i started teh motor back up is was clear that i had an exhaust leak where i didn't before. i did also replace my exhaust manifolds with ones that i had ported, so that might be some of it too

yeah that little engine strut doesn't look to be straight so im thinking the motor shifted, because i took the engine right off the cradle to paint the cradle etc, I guess upon reinstallation is twisted a little bit, because I can notice it's not really straight, I'll loose up all the mounts tonight and get it straight and then give it a shot again, thanks scott
