and a cheap one at that, and you need inch lbs, is there a conversion i can do? just devide by 12 or something more?

1 ft lb = 12 in lbs.

Sort of, multiply by 12 to get inch pounds.

If you need inch pounds... the foot pound wrench is very likely too high in the range to be used even with the conversion. (Which if I remember right at the moment is multiply or divide by 12 depending which direction you are going.)

Example... 80 inch pounds is only 6 2/3 FP if I did the math right. You need a really low range FP wrench to read that.

Definatley multiply by 12 to convert foot lbs to inch lbs

Buy a torque wrench that reads inch pounds. They usually come in 3/8 drive. You can get a cheap one at autozone for like 20 bucks. Its the click style also.
