Hi All

I have acquired a second set of notchback taillights. Currently, in order to meet UK legal requirements for amber turn indicators, my lights have been modded by the removal of reversing lights and the addition of amber bulbs in their place, with the (red) turn indicators circuits re-wired to them.

I would like to modify the second set of taillights by removing the part of the red lens which covers the outboard light bulb, and substituting some kind of amber lens, so that I can return my turn indicators to the ends of the tailslights, rather than close to the middle of the car (and also have reverse lights again).

Any suggestions/help/advice?

Has anyone ever done this over here?

Thanks, in advance.

Hey Paul,
It sounds like you want to keep the standard colored lenses and figure out a way of changing the outboard lights to yellow. If you wanted to try something else, you could remove the stock colored filters from the tailight assembly and do some minor modifications using some other kind of lenses, such as those done at PISA (http://www.pisafierohq.com/lights/bullet_taillights/). I actually did the exact same thing you are wanting to do using that kit, but you could find some other type of colored lenses to install if you didn't like those.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I hope you can find a way to get it done the way you like it. Best of luck to you!
David

I'm partial to the mods that Mickey_Moose did to the taillights in this thread.

If I had a notchback, this is one mod that would be on my "to do" list!
