I have a 86 fiero gt with the 4sp manual.

My car doesn't shift out of neutral - I can go to all the gears with shifter, but it wont switch to that gear instead it just stays in neutral....I think the problem is with the clutch but I definatly could be wrong lol... What is the best way to access the clutch to check this/does anybody have any other ideas?

I also have a question about the clutch pedal. i have a 5 spd and the pedal has "play" to it. i had the master cylinder replaced. it never was leaking.
so my question is, is there a cable attached to the pedal that is loose? what could be the problem?

oh, new clutch plate and shirts great. im just wondering why the pedal goes to the floor?

I would start off with someone standing at the rear of the car and observing the shift linkage on the tranny. While your shifting gears, if the cables are not making the linkage move then I would suggest you "might" have a cable problem. Perhaps broken cable or out of adjustment. If the linkage is not moving, try to manually move it back and forth and up and down with your hand. Try that for starters and let go from there. Just for safety purposes....... engine should be off while doing this. Hop
