Just wondering what people are wrapping their electrical wires with in their engine bay to neaten it up? I have been using the standard black tubing that goes around the wires but I find if it gets to close to the exhaust manifold it starts to sag from the heat. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you do a search for Cool-it products in Summit you will find insulated wire sleeves. Rodeny Dickman also sells the insulated wire wrap that the main wiring harness uses.

there is heat resistant split tubing that doesnt shrivel up as quickly. but, I have yet to see it in any other colors. I have used the colored split tubing (or whatever its called...) for some stuff. like my new battery cables were both black, so, I wrapped the (+) one with a red split tube. but most of my wiring harbness I re-wrapped with with the proper heat resistant split tube. its a dull black with a yellow/white stripe. then wrapped with electrical tape.

Don't use the cheap stuff. It will melt and will catch fire. There was someone here who's car started on fire because of the tubing melting. The High-Temp stuff only comes in black.
I know a few who have bought the high-temp stuff and then used high temp engine/exhaust paint and painted them.

Actually, the high temp stuff does not only come in black! Taylor makes high temperature (called and talked to their tech department, its rated for over 200 degrees and will not burn) tubing in a few different colors. You can order it through Summit or any store that deals in Taylor products (I got mine from Rossi's Engine & Drivetrain in Gilroy, Ca). It was $40 for a bag of 10 feet each of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4". Thats plenty enough to completely recover an engine wiring harness. You can get it in black, purple, red, yellow, blue, white and teal. I used this stuff for the wiring harness in my HOT 3.4 TDC engine bay. I accidentally ran some right against the exhaust crossover and it only melted right where it touched the crossover pipe. It did not burn or even melt through to the wires. This is just the stuff to use for our cars.

I would NOT use the stuff available on the shelf at the auto parts store. It not only melts at a lower temperature but it is flammable!
