My 1968 Duke had a major oil leak. It came up right after an oil change.

The leak was more of a run. It ran and steadily dripped after thew car ran for about 10 seconds. I suspected the oil pressure sencor but could not prove it. The oil pressure sencor wqs replaced and the leak stopped. HOWEVER, on my way in to work this morning the oil pressure dropped enough to cause the low pressuer light to go red. If I kept thwe RP{M up all was OK. When I got to work I checked the oil--FULL! At lunch I went out with the car and checked the oil (FULL) and did s short drive--no pressure problems. What do you think--I think a pice of dirt got in the way and not enough oil got to the pressure switch.

You also could have a defective oil pressure sensor or just wear inside your engine. If the bearings are worn enough, they will reduce the amount of pressure the oil pump can make. You can hook up a mechanical gauge with a t-fitting inline to check the oil pressure.
