i'm putting an isuzu 5speed in to my 87 gt. the shifter i'm useing is from a getrag. will it work with the isuzu cables and tranny?

if not is there an easy mod i can do to the getrag shifter to make it work?

I understand that both 5 speed shifters are the same.
I believe that if there is any difference at all, it's just in the length/shape of the shifter handle itself. Maybe not even that.

The cross bolt on the Isuzu is exposed while the Getrag shifter has it covered in a tube. The bushings are also a bit different.
However, they are functionally identical and fully interchangeable.
