ok here is what happened i get in the car turn the key the starter does nothing....but what did happen is a bit of smoke spewed out from where the battery vent is. i immediatly take the key off and look around back there and i dont see anything that looks burnt. but i decided to try to start it again and see what happens and now nothing happens. but i can still push start it... please give me some idea ask question and ill shall answer... the only thing i can think is i blew a fusible link but why would it blow what would of grounded out that would caused that. well please help me i desperately need it

Got a meter? If not, you can get one fairly cheap from most home stores or hardware stores. Get someone to try starting while you measure the voltage at the battery terminals, does it drop? Make sure you're on the terminals themselves, not the cable connectors. Next, try the same thing with the cables. To me it sounds like a cable failed, possibly due to a shorted starter.

hmmm i think you may be right little while after i wrote this i investigated deeper and found that my metal tube ( the one that goes from the cat to the air filter cover thingy) oh well i hope you understood that well i think it may have shorted something out back there and now im trying to figure out which wire it smoked. the smoke came from by the battery somewhere is the fusible link somewhere around there?
