As some of you already know I now have a complete 88 power steering system. I have been bring it to shows and someday I hope to make a display for it. It is missing something though. The wiring harness. I do have the part numbers for the connectors to the power steering pump and motor assembly. I checked with some suppliers and they do not have replacement conectors. I have a fax in to a guy and he is going to try and find what GM cars used these connectors so we can go to a junk yard and look for good used connectors so that end I should have covered. My question is- where does this wiring harness go? Thru the bulkhead and into the ECM? If so there must be a connector into the ECM?

I have no clue where that harness would go but if you have any info on the PS kit you were working on give me a pm. My arms are getting tired.

It figures your arms are tired get out and get some excercise and get away from the computer like the rest of the working world. You know that I'm only kidding. I may be interested also.

It may be a case where the pump would run continuously or may have a sensor to pick up movement of the rack (doubtful)
Do you have a pick of the plugs? I can check with a supplier here for you.

The EHPS control system does not connect to the ECM.. rather it gets its speed signal from the instrument cluster. Don't the 88s have a slightly different speedometer with extra pins or something to relay the vehicle speed to the EHPS unit?

Yes, the EHPS unit hooks the "M" pin on the speedometer of the 88s. The earlier models have no copper on the "M" pin. This must connect to the dash harness through the bulhead somehow. I can check my books tonight, it might be called out which pin it is.

Boomtastic has a GM / OEM contact and he was also in touch with a company for connectors - shoot him an email. He may be able to assist you.
