Does anyone have a good way to mount a camcorder in the car between the seats above the center compartment? I'm looking for something good, but very temporary and inexpensive, if possible. Thanks

There was a thread on this a while back. One member, "fierofool", had engineered a clever mount, and included a diagram.

Here is the link to that thread.

Thanks!!! That is awsome! I don't know if I can find stainless steel in time for when I wanted it, but that is certainly a very good idea. I was thinking of something in my head much less stable, but in the same location. If all else fails, I could always do what stimpy did, which was actually very clever, though probably not as stable.

I used stainless because it was available, and because of its tensile strength. Heavy gauge aluminun would work very well. Something like .040 or .060. You can often get scraps of this, with a baked on enamel color coating, from local sign shops. Many times they also have the bender/break sheer to fabricate it, too. I used a small bench-top bender for mine.

Believe me, you will want something that's very stable. Video quality suffers tremendously with a shaky camera. I can tell a big difference when I turn off the Electronic Image Stabilization feature on my camera.
