I am getting ready to paint my Fiero in the next few days.
I have about finished the body prep (getting rid of all the clear coat that was peeling).
The only thing I have to deal with (other than learning how to paint), is filling a dozen holes in the deck lid left over from the luggage rack.

What is the proper technique and material for filling the holes.

Thanks,
Gene

Hey Gene
You should be able to just open them up a little more and fiberglass them.
Bevel the hole on the top and reinfoce the bottom with some cloth.
Fill the top with chopped glass and cover it with some cloth.
Make sure to feather the hole so you can apply the cloth and still be able to sand it smooth without taking all of the cloth off.

Thanks,
I am busting my butt to get the car done before we come to Florida in 3 weeks.
We will be there in Lakeland on Aug 27-30. After that we are heading over to Daytona.
We are going to the Fiero meeting in Orlando on the 1st and the one in Jacksonville on the 3rd.

Besides painting it, I am also adding GT front and rear bumpers.

Holes in the flexible urethane parts ( Facia and fenders) should only be filled with 3M easy sand flexible plastic filler and then sanded. Holes in the fiberglas parts like the deck, hood and roof/rear clip can be repaired with fiberglas filler (Bondo). Do not use Bondo on the flexible parts as it will crack and lift with time.
