i need help. i replace all 4 brakes hoses with S/S ones, put on a new right rear caliper,
and replace the two e-brake cables. the problem is that when put the car on the ground
it seems that my car won't move. it's like the brakes are activated, i can't even push the
car. i'm stumped.

thanks...

Did you back off the e-brake adjuster after installing the new cables?

When you had it off the ground did you check to see if it was back or front or both locked?

when i had the car on the jack stands the wheels rotated freely.
when i applied the e-brake the wheel locked up tight. then i started
loosening the adjuster to the point where the right rear tire lock up
tight and the left one was semi tight. that's where i left it, to seek
advice from here.

thanks...

You are saying that all 4 wheels rotated freely on the stands yet it won't move when it's on the ground? I find that hard to believe.

What you need to do is jack it up again and see which caliper is sticking. It could be that you have a pinched brake like that is not letting the fluid bleed back after you release the brakes. Or more likely thing is that despite your adjustments the eBrake is sticking.

come on up and push it yourself. that is what is happening, makes no sense to me. with the car on stand and i step on the
brakes the wheels will stop and release when i let up on the pedal. when i put that sucker on the ground it won't budge.

i need to figure out if the front or rear wheels are locking up on me.

thanks...

No insult intended, but this is really weird so I have to ask: it's in neutral when you're trying to push it on the ground, right?

The only other thing I can think of without seeing it, is that perhaps you have an odd situation whereby with a fully extended rear suspension (i.e. in the air) there is less tension on the e-brake cables than there is when the suspension is compressed to normal ride height.

Are you sure of the routing of the lines, maybe one or more is getting pinched when you lower it. Is a strange one

you know i've thought about that it being in gear when i was pushing. for a sanity check i'm going to double check in gear
situation again. i'm pretty sure it's in neutral when i'm pushing it.

another thing i'm going to try is to see which brake calipers are locking, fronts or rears.

well i finally figured out what my problem was.

it's was the lower control arm digging into the wheel. it would spin
freely when it was on the jackstands but when i put it on the ground
the weight of the car would press down the LCA into the wheel
not letting it move.

i was lowering the car with Rodney's LBJ and Eibach springs, i guess
the LBJ lower the control arm so that it would not work with 14"
snowflake wheels.

thanks for everyone's suggestions, now i need bigger wheels.

thanks...
