If it's anything like my wife's 96 grand-am it will be hard. First off what is your car doing? Is it starting then shutting off and blinking the theft light? If it is you might want to try the "key learn "procedure. What you do is , insert the key ,turn the key to the run position on and off 3 times, and on the third time leave the key in the run position. The theft light should (damn i can't remeber if it blinks or not

) blink. Leave the key in the run position for TEN ( 10 ) minutes NO LESS ! At the ten minute mark the light should stop or start blinking (opposite of what it did for the 10 minutes). After that start car. If it doesn't start then you have other issues, like a bad sensor in your lock cylinder . This is all based on if it the same system as a 96 Grand-Am. Hope it helps.
