I spent FOREVER getting my hinge replaced, and then as I'm putting everything together the handle spring breaks it's retainer thingers and my window motor stripped itself to **** where I couldn't finish installing the door or removing it! Now I get to do most if it all over again!

Well, after prying with some tire irons I got it down far enough to put the door together, but my question is this...

Do I get a whole new motor from the fiero farm or somewhere, or would that not include the gear that's stripped? I mean, the motor itself still runs well enough. The metal gear that's exposed (not a full circle) doesn't appear to be damaged either. It's something else...

Thanks!

hmmmm... the motors are generic GM window motors. The Regulator is what moves the window up and down. Is the half moon shaped gear on the regulator stripped? There are only two gears.... the motor gear or the half moon.

You will have to remove the regulator no matter what. 4 or 5 rivets, plus the removal of the power lock bracket.
