A headlamp motor exploded view diagram - Who has one or knows where it is in the service manual, etc?

Specificly I have a spring washer that I cannot recall where it goes. I believe it goes on the outside.

I did search a couple hours before I posted and had been reading everything on headlamps. I Say that from Buddy. In all my searching before I started I did see a service manual type - exploded parts diagram of the motor assembly. I'll take the other motroe apprt today and can determine where it came from.

It's just making me crazy that I cannot find that diagram again. The index is so helpful in the service manual. What I need is the 'GM shop manual'. I'll find it later today

What is the problem with the system????

Before you spend a huge amount of time and effort on fixing the Gen 1 system, what will probably break again in fairly short order, look up the Gen 2 system. It's not teribly hard to convert and the Gen 2 system is far more reliable. Likey cost allot less as well.

The only reason to fix the Gen 1 system is to show the car in a strict factory class.

The headlamp motors are dying the standard Fiero death.
I understand the arguments for chaning the whole system and I considered that. I just don't have the time to find a junked car, pull the parts (or find the parts at a junk yard), etc, etc. I find it easier to simply rebuild the motors - for now.
I started on the dead motor days ago and last night before coming back into the office I was almost complet when I found that I could not recall wher the flat spring washer should go. When I start disassembly of the other motor I'll determine where it goes.

I know I say that diagram somewhere - I will find it!

Dag-nab-it! You beat me to it. That's the spring washer! I started taking the other motor apart to rebuild it and there it was. It all looks a lot like yours! Thanks for posting that. Now I just need to find theat diagram to prove to myself that I'm not as crazy - as I act!
