OK someone in Alberta had offed me a complete 3.32 Muncie 4spd. I passed on it.

Now I have came to the conclusion that this would be the best bet for my 4.9 Caddy swap. Cheap to rebuild my current 4spd and I can keep all my current shifter and cables and get the tallest possible gears that a Fiero ever came with. Plus have arguably the strongest Fiero tranny ever.

I need a 3.32 gear set from an 84 Fiero 4spd. Anyone got one.

Another option for the taller final drive gears are the '80-'81 Citation V6 and I4 4-speeds. This is what I am using to swap the 3.32 FDR into my 3.65 '86 Fiero trans.

There are 2 econo trannies near me, but the yards want $$$$$$$$$. (I'll have to call the dealer and see what they charge for one. You do know they don't sell them, right? Geez, are they that rare. walk away....muttering)

What makes me mad is that I turned down a couple of 3.32 and I even sent a 3.32 off to the scrapper 2 years ago. I had no idea I would ever need one again, nore have a problem finding one. Ugh.

Someone in Alberta said they had one they were getting rid of. If I could find that person I would be doing alright. Looks like I am going to just put an Isuze on the 4.9 and keep looking for the Muncie.

Then when I blow the Isuze I will have the Muncie waiting to go in.

Pretty sure that my wife's '84 Chevy celebrity had the the 3.32. It was an Iron Duke with a 4 speed. Certainly taller gearing than my '84 Fiero with the 4.10.

The main gears in the 4spds were

3.32
3.65
4.10

Citation and Celebrity had a 3.32 but had the wrong 4th for me, they had a .81 4th and I want the 3.32 with .73 4th gear. (wicked top speed)

With my tires, and the 3.32 / .73 in 4th gear at 4000rpms I would be doing a hair over 130mph. Ya 4000 and 130, 5000 would be 163 mph. 65mph would be 1999rpms.

Now this trans on a 4.9 torque beast would be perfect.
