I have fixed several digital dashes and can tell you the following:
The Camaro guages are only for the 84-86(??) Berlinetta. Will not fit into the Fiero withoug some mods and the housing is quite a bit bigger. This display uses vacuum florescent on it and is very hard on the power supplies, due to the high speed switching needed to drive the displays, but can usually be easily fixed. Also suffers from cold solder connections as this unit uses 3 boards stacked together using thru pin connections (one board is power supply, another is the processor board, and the top is the display board).
TransAm had the digital guages in the 87-89 GTA. Back lit LCD display, so multiple colors are possible (same as the Corvette display). Uses separate boards for each display, may be able to retro fit into the Fiero but the display with the boards mounted to them require a fair deep mounting depth. Very realiable in terms of breakdowns, usually the back lit buld just burns out.
Cavalier - same problems as the Camaro ones with reguards to the power suplly going bad. These will fit into the Fiero with some minor cutting to the housing. Many threads on here on how to do it.
Corvette - same as the TransAm, but usually suffers from 'sunburnt' displays. LCD displays do not like sunlight, this is more of a problem with the Vette due to the targa top usually being off the car. The T/A's display is recessed at bit under a dash lip so it is better protected. Anyways, a sunburnt display is not repairable (unless you change the LCD panel). What happens is the sun, when shinning on the dispalys, heats them up to the point that the liquid inside starts to boil and thus cracks the glass. As a result the fluid leaks out, as a result there is nothing left inside the display to block out the light from the rear which makes the display look like it is always on (even when the car is off).
