I'm asking this for a internet-less friend so here goes....


He is interested in swapping his th125 for a 5speed from a newer cavilier, but the question that we have is, aside from a custom flywheel as in all manual sbc swaps, will he need a new adaptor plate... i remember reading somewhere that the manual and automatic v8 archie adapter plates differed in thickness. I may be wrong, but that's why i'm asking hte experts.

not sure on the thickness of the auto plate, but the man. one is 1" thick,
contact archie for the flywheel, and plate, he will be a good source if info for you
