I think I have the dreaded brake dust shield scrape!

Rescently did an engine swap and now that I have it back together (slowly squaring running issues away). I noticed that I have scrapping sounds coming from the rear. Thought maybe shot pads were making the noise but replaced the pads and it is still doing it! I have bent out the dust shields (did it prior to re-installing the wheels after brake job) and it is still scrapping. I didn't notice any scrape marks on the rotors but I believe the noise is coming from this area (I had this scape before...like a year ago and that is what it was).

Anyway....
I want to remove them and straighten them out!
Can they be removed easily...(hopefullly I don't need to remove awhole bunch of stuff to accomplish this like the hub, brake system, ect....)???

Thought maybe someone would know off the top of there head!!!!!!!

Thanks!

if you just finished a swap then it's probably just the bottem part of the shield.
take the wheels off and get between the rotor and a shield with s screwdriver.
no problem.
also common going around corners when you are starting to get wear on the wheel bearings

This is scrapping all the time (straight, around turns, makes no difference).

I am thinking it is the shield (maybe when the cradle was dropped the shields got bent near the hub).

I did use a screwdriver and pulled the shield away (all the way around) when I replaced the rear brakes and it made no difference (if any thing the scrape is even worse). Is it possible for the shield to be scrapping down around the hub area because I didn't see any signs of scrapping on the rotor not to mention I have it completely puled away from the rotor!

Can the shield be taken off without to much effort?
I want to pull them off and straighten them but can't recall off the top of my head if I can remove them without needing to remove alot of other stuff aswell!
I figure if I remove the shield test drive it and if the scrape is gone then I know straightening the shield will do the trick. If it still scrapes then i'll look at the bearings and axles!

So can the shield easily be taken off??????

once you have the rotor off you can see the bolts that hold the shield on.
no worse than doing a brake job
