O.K. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I have this hose running from the air cleaner canister on my stock 86' 2.8. It runs along the firewall then is cut where it is connected to nothing on the firewall side of the motor...

What is this hose for,,,,, also where, and how does this connect to the motor??????


Engine runs great.. No codes, good idle.. everything....

It was part of the recall. The dealer cut that hose and was supposed to cap off the air cleaner. A new hose was added to the rubber air intake to replace the function of that one they cut.

Just cap it off, and you'll be ok. Otherwise, you could pull dirty engine air into the intake.

It used to be a breather pipe from the valve cover..................... the recall eliminated it, but they didnt remove it. It should be capped off on the engine side, if not cap it off cause the engine is getting unfiltered air
