Heard bad stuff about Fram (stuff like how the insides are sealed cardboard to metal and hot glue is used to hold stuff together - proven with pics). The Purolator oil filter was highly recommended - cheap as the Fram, but equal filtration to the Mobil 1 filter at a fraction of the price.

You'll notice that some part numbers will get you a shorter style filter, while some will get you a longer style filter. Both will screw on. I found the longer filter by looking for a large 2.8 FWD car of the same vintage as the Fiero. Im not actually sure that the filtration area is increased, but it can't hurt.

Or go with a Wix 51036.

Please don't use a Fram.

I agree with Dodgerunner....stay away from the Fram filters. I use Wix on all of my vehicles. Costs more...but it's cheap insurance.

Wow, my whole life I've been using Pennzoil, and I see a thread that convinces me to switch to Valvoline; and I've been using Fram my whole life, and now I'm gonna switch to AC Delco... ya learn something new every day. Thanks!

exactly. I look for the filter of a 4wd s-10 w/2.8 I think it is. the filter has the same base, its just 2x as long.
and Fram sucks

Yes fram sucks - but don't use the one from the S-10 4*4! It's REALLY short (supposed to be for clearance on the control arm (WTF?!)).

I use the Delco PF-52C on my 4*4 (and all my Fiero's) and have had ZERO clearance problems.
(parts place loves me - I usually buy them by the box!)
